I left Nashville around 7AM on April 30th 2019 after an almost sleepless night dealing with a very sick pet. I’d be lying to say I wasn’t worried about how well I’d be able to work between crippling fear for my beloved animal and 3 hours of ‘sleep’. The show goes on as they say, and did so on pure adrenaline.
Walking into the studio allowed me to temporarily rid myself of the distractions of the world, and I put on my cameras and made these images. New friends, old friends, and a recording studio steeped in profound history made this Memphis session all the more magical. Not to mention hearing Erin Rae sing in on of the studio's famed echo chambers? There aren’t proper adjectives to describe that. Matt Ross-Spang recorded Erin covering Tom Paxton’s “The Last Thing On My Mind”. Check it out on Amazon Music, and enjoy the photographs below.
