Why a Drum Scan?
See your images like never before.
Drum scans produce the highest quality scans on the market and are known for their large file size, tack sharp grain, and accurate colors. These high resolution files are great for making large format prints, where even the slightest details are easy to zoom in on. These large TIFF files also provide the photographer or editor with much information to work with, allowing for dynamic edits to be made if desired. Unlike flatbed scans, images come out with optimal sharpness, and colors much more accurate and true to life. Unlike mini lab scans, the machines used at most contemporary film labs, you will be recieving a scan not only as a TIFF file, but a file so epic in size and quality that you can edit the image to your liking; something almost impossible with mini lab scans, which while nice, sharp, and with good color, are set JPEGS that are difficult to edit. Such scans are simply “as is” products. Your drum scan files will be sent flat, where your tonal choices and edits are all up to you.
