LAURA E. PARTAIN | Journal Entry #14: Logan Ledger
My dear friend Logan Ledger has his first ever album coming out in April 2020, and so I wanted to share some photos we did in January of 2019 near his hometown of San Fransisco. We always talked about how cool it would be to fly there from Nashville for a photoshoot, and courtesy of his amazing label Rounder Records, we did just that!
I met Logan in the winter of 2016 and was soon introduced to his incredible voice. I always tell folks to think “Ray Price dropping acid with The Grateful Dead". He’s such a talented and incredible artist, and I’m always thankful to collaborate with him.
The purpose of this photoshoot was essentially to generate photographs of Logan as an artist on Rounder Records here in Nashville, with a possibility of some being album art. While in the end none of these were chosen for the record cover, I am really proud of the two EPs that were released both digitally and on 45rpm vinyl that do use my photographs, as shown below. The entire album was produced by T Bone Burnett, and unsurprisingly he knocked this one out of the musical ballpark.
The remainder of this journal entry is a collection of photos from our 2 day shoot in Northern California. The very last one is one of my favorites. Do yourself a favor and PLEASE listen to Logan’s amazing music and buy the record, go to his shows, and support his lovely music.
